CCB Landfill

Utter has created and managed some of America’s largest non-hazardous waste land-fills. Sites generally involve hundreds of acres. Our teams build roadbeds within the fill site, haul the fill material, build and compact the fill mounds, top-cover completed fill sections, and maintain the seeding and bush-hogging programs that return the site to unforested grassland.

Our teams strictly adhere to all EPA requirements for land-fill creation, waste management and long-term maintenance.

Utter Construction was the successful bidder for a multi-phase landfill construction project in West Virginia to be completed between the years of 2011 and 2013. The scope of work included in this project consist of the phased construction of landfill sequences 2A, 2B and 3, for a total of approximately 39 flexible membrane lined acres. This project includes nearly 1,000,000 yards of excavation/embankment over 3 years. In addition, over 14,000 linear feet of pipe has been scheduled to be installed, consisting of multiple types and sizes. Unique to this project is an unfortunately fine clay material native to the site that results in high TSS measurements in the sediment ponds. We are happy to say that with the owners help since we have been there, and through many countermeasures, this has been controlled.
